An out-of-bodywindow experience

The new Coherence mode in Parallels is really trippy. You run Windows in its own virtual machine, switch into Coherence mode, and the open applications appear on your dock and the Windows background goes away to reveal your background. Actually, it's a bit of a trick with Windows' background (the apps aren't really running on OS X) but still Parallels did a great job of making it seem like all your apps are in the same place! They also seem to have improved the cut-and-paste so that you can use the Mac Apple+C to copy while still in Windows.

Mac + Win + Parallels = wow

Apple. You just saved me $3000.

My brand-spankin'-new Macbook Pro, the investment of quite a bit of $$$ into its hardware, software, and accessories, could have come crashing down around me, literally. As I was getting up to get coffee from the comfy armchair I so often sit in, my toes caught the power cord and *SNAP!*. The next thing I saw was the tail end of the power cord flying through the air ... but not the laptop. It sat happily on the coffee table humming along like normal. THANK YOU to Apple for putting in the MagSafe power connection. You just saved me replacing a laptop.
